So few have heard of it, yet worldwide it's seen as more common than leukemia, multiple sclerosis & muscular dystrophy combined! Over 1 in 1000 Canadian men, women and children are living with lupus. The ratio of women to men (who are affected) is 9 to 1. and the average age of diagnosis is between 15 and 45.

Lupus is a chronic disease characterized by inflammation in one or more parts of the body. It belongs in the family of diseases that includes rheumatoid arthritis, multiple sclerosis, juvenile diabetes, and scleroderma. The most common type of lupus is systemic  lupus  erythematosus  (SLE).  It is estimated that lupus affects over 1:1000 Canadian's, thus there are thousands of people in Ontario with SLE. Systemic lupus is a complex and sometimes baffling condition that can target any tissue or organ of the body, including skin, muscles, joints, blood and blood vessels, lungs, heart, kidneys and the brain.

Winning bidders will be contacted at the end of the auction to make arrangements for payment and pickup/delivery of their items.

Payment Types Accepted:

Credit card and Check payments can be made after the highest bidder has been revealed. Checks should be addressed to "Walk for Lupus Ontario c/o Family Ties" and credit card info can be given via email [email protected]. These options are only if online payment is absolutely out of the question.

Winning Bidder Item Pickup/Delivery:

Winners won't be given their items until they have completed their payment online and sent their receipt to the listed email

General Auction Information

  • The time on this server will be used to determine the start and end times of the auction. This time may be off from your local time. Refer to the approximate time in the right hand side of this page.
  • When the auction closes, all bidders will receive an e-mail regarding the status of the items they have bid on.
  • The highest bid placed on an item, by auction close, is the winner. There can only be one winner per auction item. The auction administrator (group hosting the auction) agrees to sell the item to the highest bidder.
  • You must register an account in order to place bids. Click Register on the upper right hand side of this page in the login area. Once you have registered, a confirmation/activation will be emailed to you. You must click on the link in the email message to complete the registration process. If you haven't received your confirmation email, please check your "junk mail" or "spam" folder as it may have gone there. You can also re-request the confirmation email. The link for resending the activation code can be found in the login area.
